From Classic Cars to the Connecticut Coast
Engagement photos should reflect who you are. Mike and Rachel embraced this idea to the fullest. As soon as we started planning their complimentary engagement session, I knew this would be special. My fun-loving couple chose vastly different locations for their engagement session: the elegant gardens at Eolia Harkness, the beach, and a classic muscle car. While these settings may seem unconnected, the resulting photos are a perfect blend of elegance, adventure, and nostalgia, beautifully showcasing the dynamic spirit of Mike and Rachel.
Taking Engagement Photos at Harkness in Spring
Eolia Harkness is one of the most beautiful venues in Connecticut. You can’t convince me otherwise. In spring, the gardens come to life with creeping ivy crawling up the stone building and delicate flowers throughout. We broke out the bubbly and took photos along the main lawn and gardens. Rachel and Mike quickly found themselves relaxing and sharing their affection in front of the camera while we discussed their epic wedding day plans.
Get Comfortable and Have Fun
Beyond the elegant engagement photos, we decided to embrace their more playful personalities. It was Mike and Rachel’s idea to incorporate water into the session. They went from dancing in the (chilly) Connecticut waves to sharing another bottle of bubbly with a classic car. Each setting offered a distinct vibe, and the couple was thrilled with the results. Taking a diverse approach gave them more from their engagement session than a one-outfit, one-location photoshoot. Now, the couple has a rich collection of images that tell the narrative of their adventurous love story.
