A New York City engagement session that started at Central Park and ended at the New York Public Library. We made sure to hit my couple's three favorite New York spots, bringing romance to the City.
The New York Public Library is one of my favorite places to photograph. When Sal and Alexis mentioned loving the City's classic architecture during our initial call, I knew it was the perfect location for their engagement session. After getting to know them, we decided on three locations to fit in the beautiful New York City architecture. We started the session in Central Park, grabbed a few intimate shots at Ralph’s Coffee, and ended at the New York Public Library. We put quite a few steps in that afternoon, but the photos were worth the walk.
Alexis and Sal wanted a more formal aesthetic for their engagement photos. This is common when couples want to turn their photos into artwork or use them on wedding invitations and decor. I love it because it fits with my motto - any excuse to dress up should be taken! Both Alexis and Sal came dressed to the nines. Their outfits had a classic, elegant feel and helped them stand out against the architectural steps at the New York Public Library.
When it came to posing, neither were quite sure what to expect initially. That’s ok. That’s why we do these engagement sessions before your wedding day. It gives couples a chance to experience what it’s like in front of my camera and lets us get to know each other. Despite their initial trepidation, they were naturals. They eased into poses effortlessly and took direction well, making it easy to capture their connection on film.
I am obsessed with how their engagement photos came out, and can’t wait for the wedding.
