Brian and Airi’s Eolia Mansion wedding was nothing short of breathtaking. From a heartfelt garden terrace ceremony overlooking the water to a beautifully intimate Chinese tea ceremony, every moment was filled with love, family, and unforgettable memories.
Nestled within Harkness Memorial State Park, Eolia Mansion is one of Connecticut’s most picturesque wedding venues. I’ve been there so many times in my years as a CT wedding photographer but its beauty never gets old. Before their Eolia Mansion wedding ceremony, Brian and Airi chose to honor their families with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. A tea ceremony is a beautiful tradition symbolizing gratitude, respect, and the joining of two families.
The couple changed into matching red attire, a color symbolizing good fortune and joy in their future nuptuals. As they served tea to their elders, there was an undeniable warmth in the room. I’ve photographed a few tea ceremonies in my time, and I always feel the need to almost hold my breath. There’s an intimate moment of appreciation and love between each of the family members that deserves to be uninterrupted. I love it when couples choose to incorporate their cultural traditions into their wedding. It makes the wedding day even more special. Airi and Brian hugged each member, and the entire tea ceremony was over too soon.
Once the tea ceremony was through, Airi and Brett went their separate ways for a wardrobe change to get ready for the ceremony. They exchanged vows on the Eolia Mansion garden terrace, surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle ocean breeze. A wooden arch dressed with white roses framed the view of the water, making it the perfect backdrop.
Brian looked sharp in a classic black suit, while Airi stunned in a flowing white wedding dress. The sunlight caught the delicate details of the train as she walked down the aisle. With their closest friends and family looking on, they promised forever in a ceremony that was both heartfelt and breathtaking.
As the sun dipped lower, we made our way from the Mansion to the beach at Harkness Memorial State Park for sunset portraits. The sky put on a show, bathing Brian and Airi in soft, golden light. The way they held hands, stole glances, and laughed together made every frame feel effortlessly romantic. There was no need to pose with these two! Their love was undeniable, and the camera captured that magic beautifully.
Throughout the day, one thing was clear — Brian and Airi’s wedding wasn’t just about the two of them but about the people they love. From joyful moments with their bridesmaids and groomsmen before the ceremony to the intimate tea ceremony with their families, every part of their wedding reflected the deep connections they share.
It was an honor to capture their love story at such a stunning venue. If you’re planning your own Eolia Mansion wedding, I’d love to help tell your story through timeless, elegant photography. Reach out to check availability for your dates!
