Brett and Sabrina’s engagement session was the perfect blend of classic New York romance and personal nostalgia. Most couples ask me to scout locations for them after I get a sense of who they are as a couple, but not these two! They knew exactly where they wanted to go. (And it was so sweet!) We started their engagement session in the heart of Dumbo, where the Brooklyn Bridge stretched high above, overlooking Manhattan. Later, we made our way to the Lower East Side — back to the bar where it all began.

There’s something cinematic about engagement photos by the Brooklyn Bridge. The mix of historic charm and urban energy made the perfect backdrop for Brett and Sabrina, who effortlessly matched the elegance of the setting. Brett looked sharp in a tailored blue suit, while Sabrina’s flowing white dress caught the light in the most beautiful way. They laughed and held hands as we wandered the cobblestone streets and the rocky shore. You could tell these two were deeply in love. There was hardly a moment they weren’t holding hands or sending each other secretive smiles. It was adorable.
Two Kids Meet in a Bar on the Lower East Side
From Dumbo, we headed to a little Lower East Side bar where Brett and Sabrina first met. The bar was cozy, filled with warm light and quiet memories. They tucked away in a small booth in the corner where we could take some photos. It felt like a full-circle moment.
I’m so glad they decided to come back! Capturing their engagement photos in the place where it all started made the session feel even more meaningful. They have a few cocktails as we chatted about their wedding plans. I find this helps my couples relax. You’d be surprised how many sweet emotions people express, not even realizing it, as they dream about the next chapter together. (But you can bet I caught Brett and Sabrina’s on film!)
